Header & Footer Block Pages

Turbo lets you replace the theme header or footer with a block‑based page, so you can build them visually in the editor.

How it works

Turbo creates two special pages on theme activation:

  • header
  • footer

You can use these pages as block-based layouts for your header or footer.

Enable a block header

  • Go to Customizer → Header.
  • Set Header Layout to None (disable theme header).
  • Select the Header content page (blocks).
  • Save.

The page you select becomes your site header.

Enable a block footer

  • Go to Customizer → Footer.
  • Set Footer Variant to None (disable theme footer).
  • Select the Footer content page (blocks).
  • Save.

The page you select becomes your site footer.

Editing the block pages

  • Go to Pages in the WordPress admin.
  • Edit site-header or site-footer like any page.
  • Use any blocks you want.

Notes

These pages are hidden from normal browsing and redirect to the homepage if visited directly.

If the header/footer page is missing, Turbo will recreate it on theme activation.
